Tristessa

VERKNIPT

This project stems from the intent to link fashion with the intensity and aesthetic language of the techno scene. More than just a musical genre, techno has become a culture that fuses sound, visuals, and community in high-energy spaces. Under this lens, the collection seeks to capture the essence of raves and festivals, environments where lights, bodies, and constant movement transform reality into a collective ritual. Through design, the proposal not only responds to an urban and nocturnal aesthetic code but also translates the emotional power characteristic of these gatherings into garments. Thus, the collection becomes a medium to express the connection between music, identity, and sensory experience.

GARMENTS THAT TRANSCEND

The main objective was to design a clothing proposal that fuses functionality and aesthetics, creating outerwear-compatible swimwear that can be worn in everyday contexts as well as in raves, festivals, and parties. These pieces were conceived as hybrid garments that transcend conventional use, offering freedom of movement and a transformative character that adapts to different scenarios. The design process was developed through the analysis of rave culture and techno aesthetics, exploring contrasts of light and shadow, as well as cuts and textures that follow the dynamism of the body in motion. In this way, each garment reflects the energy of electronic music and becomes a manifesto of strength, empowerment, and freedom.

WOMEN ON THE DANCE FLOOR

Demographic Profile

The collection is aimed at women between 19 and 29 years old living in Bogotá and Medellín, from middle and upper-middle classes. They are university students or young professionals who balance work and studies, maintaining a dynamic and social lifestyle.

Lifestyle

These women enjoy traveling and attending raves, techno, and pop concerts, seeking vibrant experiences to connect with music and others. Their social life is active, marked by a constant search for new sensations and stimulating environments.

Interests and Values

They are interested in fashion and makeup as forms of creative expression, viewing their image as an extension of their identity. Furthermore, they value self-care, support feminism, and social causes, showing a conscious and empowered stance toward the world.

Relationship with Fashion

They experience fashion as an act of empowerment and authenticity. They seek garments that reflect their strength, freedom, and desire to stand out without sacrificing comfort, turning their style into a tool to express who they are and how they feel in every moment.

THE PULSE OF TECHNO

Techno and hard techno, genres defined by their rhythmic and repetitive power, have shaped a vibrant culture with icons like Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, I Hate Models, and Kobosil. Events such as the Verknipt festival in Amsterdam reflect this aesthetic: laser lights, immersive visuals, and constant movement that transform the space into a total sensory experience. Fashion becomes an extension of this atmosphere: garments that react to lighting, textures that change with movement, and silhouettes that follow the intensity of the beat. Thus, the clothing does not just accompany the music but becomes an active part of the collective experience.

CORPOREAL VIBRATIONS

COLOR WAVES

The prints were developed using sublimation techniques, allowing for the precise transfer of digitally designed patterns onto the textile surface. These graphic compositions seek to evoke the dynamism and energy of movement, integrating fluid shapes that simulate the constant rhythm of techno and the interaction between body, light, and sound. A neutral-toned base was used, overlaid with strokes and undulations in contrasting colors, creating visual vibrations that reinforce the ideas of fluidity, intensity, and freedom.

BEATING FABRICS

Selected materials such as lycra, nylon thread, and nylon yarn were chosen for their flexibility, lightness, and ability to adapt to the body in motion. These qualities guarantee comfort and breathability, allowing the garments to follow the rhythm of the dance without restricting body flow. Furthermore, their texture and structure help highlight the visual contrasts of the design, achieving a harmony between functionality and aesthetic expression.
